COLLEGE AT A GLANCE

Envisioned by Savithri Devi Saboo Charitable Institutions Society and established in 1995, Savithri Devi Saboo Memorial Women’s College is affiliated to University of Calicut and situated at Vellanur in a sprawling campus of 15 acres. Savithri Devi Saboo Charitable Institutions Society was registered in 1975 to fulfill the poignant wish of late Mrs. Savithri Devi Saboo, W/o. late Mr. R N Saboo, Ex- President, Grasim Industries Limited, Mavoor, Calicut, with special emphasis on the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden girls. Maintaining an ideal ambience and striking a delicate balance between curricular and co-curricular activities, this institution has produced many toppers in the university examinations for the last 27 years.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
M Sc Home Science (Nutrition &Dietetics)

  Under Mark System :-B.Sc. Degree of University Of Calicut with Home Science/Family& Community Science /Dietetics /Clinical Nutrition/Food Science with Quality Control/Food Science and Nutrition/ Food Service management and Dietetics or other Nutrition related subjects or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Under Grade System :- B.Sc. Degree of University of Calicut with Home Science/Family &Community Science/ Dietetics /Clinical Nutrition/Food Science with Quality Control/Food Science and Nutrition/ Food Service management and Dietetics or other Nutrition related subjects or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.s.
HOW TO APPLY
  • Application can be obtained from the college office on payment of the required application fee.
  • The last date for issue and receipt of application in the college office shall normally be as communicated in the University notification. Incomplete or defective applications are liable to be rejected. No original certificates should be sent along with application, but attested, true copies of SSLC, Degree, TC and Mark list of the qualifying examination and incase of SC/ST/OBC candidates community/nativity certificate for relaxation of minimum marks for admission shall be enclosed. For subsequent enquiries the Application Number given in the application form should invariably be quoted.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
  1. Those candidates who are “Eligible for Higher Studies” as per the Higher Secondary Examination and those who have passed in the equivalent examination are eligible for admission to degree programmes, unless otherwise specified.
  2. Candidates qualified in the annual examination held in the year 2021 or any preceding annual / supplementary examination is eligible for admission. Candidates who have qualified the HSE and VHSE of the Government of Kerala under SAY scheme and compartmental Examination of CBSE are also eligible for admission to first year Degree Programmes.
  3. Eligibility Criteria for Programmes
  • BA English
HSE or equivalent with any combination
  • B B A
HSE or equivalent with not less than 50% marks.
  1. SC/ST candidates who have secured minimum pass in the qualifying examination are eligible for admission.
  2. OBC and OEC will be allowed a concession of 5% in the minimum marks required for admission.
  • B.Com Finance
HSE or equivalent with at least one commerce subject. Candidates who have not taken at least one commerce subject for higher secondary or equivalent examination are also eligible, provided they get at least 45% (in 6 subjects) in that examination.
  1. SC/ST candidates who have secured minimum pass in the qualifying examination are eligible for admission.
  2. OBC and OEC will be allowed a concession of 5% in the minimum marks required for admission.
  • B.Sc. Botany
HSE or equivalent with Biology
  • B.Sc. Family & Community Science
HSE or equivalent with science subjects.
